Äldsta dotter till cirkusdirektören Phineas T Barnum och hans hustru Charity. Hon följde med när pappan eskorterade Jenny Lind (“the Swedish nightingale”) på den amerikanska turnén. Vid ett tillfälle när Caroline var med pappan i kyrkan och sjöng i kören trodde församlingen att hon var Jenny Lind. Det är antagligen det hon är mest känd för. Hon gifte sig med en affärsman och dog rik.
