gårDagens kvinna: Pauline Léon (1768-1838)
Den franska revolutionen har vi hört talas om – och stormandet av Bastiljen, men vilka var de som gjorde det? Pauline föddes i en chokladfabrik i Paris av enkla, arbetande föräldrar. Hon tyckte att även kvinnor kunde kämpa mot orättvisor och när hon var 21 tog hon en hacka och stormade Bastiljen tillsammans med tusen andra människor. Hon bildade en grupp med kvinnor, som kallade sig femmes sans-culottes (kvinnor utan knäbyxor). Eleganta knäbyxor av siden bars av de rika männen. Revolutionärerna med sina grova byxor blev sans-culottes. Händelserna ledde till avskaffandet av kungadömet, införande av republik och påverkade historiens gång.
