Född Mary Ann Evans i Warwickshire, England. Ovanligt nog fick hon en utbildning vid privatskolor tills hon var 16. 1836 tog hon hand om sin far efter att modern dött. 1849 reste hon till Geneve och senare London där hon 1851 blev redaktör för tidskriften The Westminster Review. Från 1854 levde hon tillsammans med Henry Lewes, som separerat men inte kunde få skilsmässa. Hon började skriva romaner under pseudonymen George Eliot, Middlemarch, The mill on the Floss m fl. När hennes partner dog slutade hon skriva.

This concludes my survey of the 2-colour Technicolor films. A total of 371 films were made in this colour system, but I have only included the titles I have found stills or video for, even if the images more often than not don’t give justice to the original colours. The 3-colour Technicolour system was already in use at this time.
